Healthcare, like food and shelter, has become a basic need of Humanity. India is developing into a good location to receive medical treatments and growing to be a leader in medical tourism. At an estimated growth of 30% each year, studies conducted by various government and private sector agencies in India estimate that medical tourism could be worth $2 to $2.5 billion US by 2020. Among all the factors contributing to the growth of medical tourism in India, foremost is the cost factor. The medical costs in India are one-tenth of the costs in western countries Encouraged by the incredible pace of growth exhibited by the industry, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and McKinsey have predicted that the industry will grow to earn additional revenue of $3.2 billion by 2020.
